According to the latest official public notice issued by the NTA, candidates can now complete their registration for the UGC NET June 2026 session examination within the newly prescribed timeframe. This change applies equally to all three categories: Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor, and admission to PhD programs in Indian universities. **When to Apply for the UGC NET June 2026 Examination?**

Now, under the new directive, candidates can submit their online application forms until 10:00 AM on May 23, 2026. The agency has clarified that, under no circumstances, will the date be extended further after this deadline. Therefore, candidates are advised to visit the official website—ugcnet.nta.nic.in—and fill out their forms immediately, without waiting until the last minute.
**Extra Time Granted for Fee Payment**
In addition to extending the deadline for filling out the UGC NET form, the NTA has also revised the deadline for submitting the examination fee. Candidates who have already submitted their application forms can pay their fees via Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI until 11:50 PM on May 23, 2026. Please note that if your fee is not submitted on time, your application will be considered incomplete, and a roll number will not be issued.
**Correction Window for Form Modifications Opens on May 25**
If you made any errors regarding your name, parents' names, photograph, signature, or selected category while filling out the UGC NET form, there is absolutely no need to panic. The NTA is providing candidates with an opportunity to rectify their details. Initially, this correction window was scheduled to open between May 22 and May 24; however, according to the revised schedule, the form correction window will now remain active from May 25, 2026, until 11:50 PM on May 27, 2026. During this period, students will be able to log in to the portal and correct their errors online.
