Re-NEET UG Result 2026: NEET UG result likely by July 20; MBBS admissions to take place on schedule..
Re-NEET UG Result 2026: Significant and reassuring news has emerged for the lakhs of medical aspirants who took the re-examination following allegations of a NEET UG paper leak. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially confirmed that the Re-NEET UG 2026 result will be declared by July 20. While the agency has not yet announced a specific date, media reports suggest the result could be released on time or even earlier.
Many students and parents were concerned that the controversies and the NEET UG paper leak might delay the start of the new MBBS academic session. The NTA has assured that the re-examination will not impact the commencement of the new session in medical colleges. Once the NEET UG result is released, the counseling, admission process, and the start of the new session will all proceed according to the scheduled timeline.
**NEET UG Answer Sheets to be Evaluated Quickly**
A senior NTA official told the news agency ANI that the agency is actively working on preparing the results. "We do not wish to announce a specific date right now, but the result will certainly be declared by July 20 without fail," the official said. Typically, results for a major exam like NEET take about 45 days to be declared, but this time, the NTA is working at a record-breaking pace. The Re-NEET exam was held on June 21; if the result is declared by July 20, it will be released within just one month.
**Processing 10,000 Objections**
Before releasing the NEET UG result, the NTA faces the significant task of reviewing objections. The agency released the provisional answer key on June 25 and provided a window until June 28 for candidates to submit objections. According to the NTA, approximately 10,000 challenges or objections have been filed from across the country. To ensure the NEET UG results are transparent and accurate, the team is meticulously reviewing every objection and examining the supporting evidence submitted with them. The final answer key and scorecards will be released only after this process is complete.
**New MBBS session will not be delayed**
A major concern among NEET UG candidates was whether the MBBS academic session would be delayed this year. The NTA has clarified that the MBBS academic calendar will not change due to the re-examination. Typically, the new medical session in India begins in August or September. This year, too, the session will commence on schedule by expediting the NEET UG counseling process.
**How will counseling be conducted after the NEET UG results?**
Once the Re-NEET UG results are declared, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will release the counseling schedule on its website. This process will cover counseling for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, as well as seats in AIIMS, JIPMER, and Central Universities. Meanwhile, state governments will conduct counseling at their respective levels for the remaining 85% of seats. Candidates will need to register online, pay the required fees, and lock their college preferences. Subsequently, seats will be allotted based on the candidates' ranks.
