Major news has been announced by the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan. Following the CBSE model, the Rajasthan Board will now conduct Class 10 board examinations twice. Starting from the 2026-27 academic session, the first examination at the secondary level will be the main exam, held between February and March, while the second board exam (a remedial or improvement exam) will be conducted in May.

**Students can take the second board exam for up to 3 subjects (following the CBSE model)**
Students who pass the main board exam may choose to participate in the second board exam (remedial/improvement exam). However, the exam can be taken for a maximum of three subjects. For students appearing in the second board exam, the final result will be declared by considering the higher marks obtained in each subject across both the main and second board exams.

**Supplementary exam discontinued**
The Board will no longer conduct supplementary exams for Class 10; this practice has been completely abolished. The final result will be declared only after both examinations have concluded, regardless of whether a student participated in the second exam or not.

**'Fail' or 'Supplementary' will not be marked on the marksheet**
The Board has taken several steps to reduce exam-related pressure on students. As part of this initiative, a decision has been made that, henceforth, the terms 'Fail' or 'Supplementary' will not be recorded on any student's marksheet.

If a candidate who has passed the main exam does not wish to appear for the second board exam (remedial/improvement exam), their pass certificate will still be issued based on the marks obtained in the main exam, following the conclusion of the second board exam. Candidates scoring below the minimum passing marks (33 percent) in any two subjects will be permitted to appear for the second board exam (remedial/improvement exam) under the 'Essential Improvement' (EI) category.

'Best of 2' Policy to be Implemented
Students and their parents should note that a 'Best of 2' policy will be implemented for both examinations. Under this policy, if a student participates in the second exam and scores lower marks in a subject for any reason, the marks from the first exam will be considered valid. Conversely, if a student scores lower marks in the first exam and higher marks in the second, the marks from the second exam will be treated as final.

Date Sheet to be Released Soon
Since Class 10 board examinations will now be conducted twice, the date sheet for the first board exam will be released soon to ensure students have adequate time to prepare.
