The new academic session in Rajasthan commenced on April 1st, and alongside this, the Education Department has released a new school calendar. Several significant changes regarding holidays, examination schedules, and school timings have been introduced in this calendar. Henceforth, special events will be restricted to the morning assembly or the first period only—rather than occupying half the day—after which regular academic instruction will resume. According to the calendar, a total of 121 holidays have been designated for the entire year, including Sundays and other government holidays. Conversely, schools are scheduled to operate for a total of 244 days throughout the year.

This year, the month of November will see the fewest school days, with schools remaining open for only 14 days, whereas July will have the highest number of school days, totaling 27. Regarding summer vacations, schools will remain closed from May 17th to June 20th. Subsequently, schools will reopen on June 22nd, as June 21st falls on a Sunday. Furthermore, the Diwali holidays have been scheduled from November 4th to November 15th, and the winter holidays from January 1st to January 10th, 2027.

**Board Examinations to be Held in March 2027**
According to the new school calendar, supplementary examinations will be conducted in April, followed by the first assessment in May; meanwhile, the second assessment will take place in August, and the half-yearly examinations in October. The final Board examinations are scheduled for March 2027, with the results slated for release by March 25th, 2027. Additionally, changes have been made to school timings. From October onwards, single-shift schools will operate from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, while double-shift schools will function from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Emphasis on Promoting Digital Education
Special attention has also been directed toward promoting digital education within the state. Activities such as smart classes, ICT labs, 'Bag-Free Days,' student assemblies (*Bal Sabhas*), and Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) will be organized regularly in schools. Furthermore, special programs aimed at promoting student health and awareness will also be implemented. Overall, in the new academic session, greater emphasis has been placed on digital learning, extracurricular activities, and time management—alongside regular studies—to ensure that students receive a superior and balanced education.
