Rajasthan CET 2026: There is a major update for candidates preparing for the Rajasthan Common Eligibility Test (CET) 2026. The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) has initiated preparations for conducting the CET 2026 (12th-level) and CET 2026 (Graduation-level) examinations. Consequently, the official notification for CET 2026 is expected to be released shortly, while the application forms for the exam will be accepted during the months of June and July. RSSB Chairman Alok Raj provided this information on Friday. He further stated that certain changes have been introduced in CET 2026, most notably the introduction of negative marking in the examination this time around.

Let us understand what the CET is all about. We will explore the specific details shared by RSSB Chairman Alok Raj regarding CET 2026 and determine the number of recruitment opportunities linked to this examination. Let us examine the entire matter in detail.

**What is the CET?**
The Rajasthan CET is conducted by the RSSB. The CET serves as a mandatory preliminary examination; only candidates who participate in this test are eligible to apply for various government jobs within Rajasthan. The RSSB conducts a two-tiered CET: one at the 12th-grade level and the other at the graduate level. Candidates who appear for the 12th-level CET can apply for government jobs requiring a 12th-grade qualification, based on their scores in the exam. Similarly, candidates who appear for the graduate-level CET can apply for government jobs requiring a bachelor's degree.

**Notification in May; Forms in June-July; Exams in November-December**
The RSSB is set to release the official notification for Rajasthan CET 2026 in May. RSSB Chairman Alok Raj stated that the application forms for the CET (Graduate Level) will be accepted in June, while the examination for this level is scheduled to be held in November 2026. Likewise, the application forms for the CET (12th Level) will be accepted in July, with the examination for this level scheduled to take place in December 2026.

Old Syllabus, New Negative Marking Rule
The RSSB has introduced certain changes regarding the CET 2026 examination. While announcing these changes on Friday, May 1, RSSB Chairman Alok Raj stated that the syllabus would undergo minor modifications. However, he added that candidates could continue to prepare based on the existing syllabus. He further informed that negative marking would be applicable this time around, and the question paper would not be easy.

19 Recruitment Drives to be Conducted Based on CET 2026; Score Valid for Three Years
The Rajasthan CET 2026 is significant in several respects. The RSSB has already clarified that the CET 2026 score will remain valid for a period of three years. This implies that candidates appearing for this examination will be eligible to apply for government jobs for up to three years based on their scores. Furthermore, according to the recruitment calendar released by the RSSB, 19 recruitment drives—ranging from Constable positions to Village Development Officer (VDO) roles—are scheduled to be conducted based on CET scores. Notably, the CET was not conducted in 2025; consequently, the LDC recruitment examination was also conducted based on the previous CET cycle.
