RRB Group D Result 2026: There is welcome news for the more than 10 million (1 crore) candidates aspiring for a government job with the Railways. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) could announce the final results for the Railway Group D recruitment (CEN No. 08/2024) at any moment. A long-standing legal hurdle regarding the official results has now been resolved. Following the green signal from the Telangana High Court, the RRB is ready to publish the Group D results on its official website.

The court had heard a case concerning the weightage of extra marks awarded to 'Act Apprentice' candidates in the final merit list. Resolving the dispute, the court ordered that only 15 posts be kept reserved and granted permission to release the Group D results for the remaining vacancies. Following this verdict, the RRB has completed the necessary verification processes. Candidates are advised to keep their admit cards and roll numbers handy to check their results.

Why was the fate of over 10 million candidates in limbo?
A total of 32,438 vacant posts are to be filled through this massive Railway Group D recruitment drive. More than 10 million youths from across the country had applied for these positions. The Computer-Based Test (CBT) for this recruitment was conducted in multiple shifts between November 27, 2025, and February 10, 2026. Candidates have been awaiting the results since the answer keys were released in February. Some non-apprentice candidates had challenged the extra marks weightage granted to 'Act Apprentices' in the Telangana High Court, leading to an interim stay on the declaration of results. Now, following the court's decision, the board is proceeding to release the results.

How to check the RRB Group D result?

Once the Railway Group D results are declared, they will be uploaded in PDF format on the main RRB website (rrbcdg.gov.in) as well as on the official websites of all regional RRBs. Here is the easiest way to check the result:

Visit the official Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) website at rrbcdg.gov.in or open your regional board's site.

Click on the link labeled ‘CEN No. 08/2024 – RRB Group D Result / Merit List PDF’ displayed on the homepage.

Upon clicking, a PDF file containing the roll numbers of selected candidates will open on your screen.

You do not need to search through the entire list manually; simply press Ctrl + F on your mobile or laptop and type in your roll number.

If your roll number gets highlighted in the list, it means you have qualified. Save the PDF for future reference.

The government's results could be released at any time.

The Railway Recruitment Board had provided a final opportunity to ensure the results were transparent and free from disputes. The board had opened a modification window, allowing apprentice candidates until June 23, 2026, to update their marks and necessary certificates. This deadline has now passed, and the data has been synchronized with the final merit list. The process of preparing the Railway government result is 100% complete, and the link is expected to be activated at any time during the last week of June.

What is the next step after the RRB result?
Once the RRB releases the written exam results and cut-off marks, successful candidates will be called for the subsequent stages of recruitment. These stages include the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), document verification, and a medical examination. In accordance with a court order, only 15 seats have been reserved pending a legal decision. The joining process for the remaining 32,423 posts will be expedited to ensure that young candidates can secure a Level-1 government job with the Railways as soon as possible.
