Bihar Teacher Recruitment 2026: There is significant news for candidates preparing to become teachers in Bihar. The state government has submitted a proposal to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) for the appointment of 32,388 teachers under the fourth phase of the teacher recruitment examination (TRE-4). With the proposal submitted, the next stage of recruitment is anticipated to commence, and the Commission is likely to issue an official notification soon. Once the notification is released, full details regarding application dates, eligibility criteria, the exam pattern, and the selection process will be made public.

Education Department Sends Recruitment Proposal to BPSC

According to the Bihar government, the Education Department has forwarded the proposal regarding vacant posts for the fourth phase of teacher recruitment to the BPSC. This recruitment drive aims to address the shortage of teachers in the state's primary, middle, secondary, and higher secondary schools. The Commission will now issue an official notification and initiate the application process.

How Many Posts for Which Class Level?

A total of 32,388 posts have been proposed across various levels under TRE-4. The highest number of vacancies is designated for the higher secondary level (Classes 11 and 12). Specifically, 3,847 posts are proposed for Classes 1 to 5, 8,563 posts for Classes 6 to 8, 3,877 posts for Classes 9 to 10, and 16,101 posts for Classes 11 to 12. Thus, approximately half of the proposed posts are for higher secondary level teachers.

BPSC TRE-4 Notification to be Released Soon

Following the receipt of the proposal, the Bihar Public Service Commission will now issue a detailed recruitment notification. This notification will provide details regarding the application start date, deadline, educational qualifications, age limit, reservation rules, exam format, and selection process. Consequently, candidates must wait for the official notification before applying. Furthermore, the objective of this recruitment drive is to fill long-vacant teaching positions in state government schools; the appointment of a large number of teachers—ranging from the primary to the higher secondary level—is expected to strengthen the teaching infrastructure in these schools.

Focus on Both Employment and Education

The state government states that this recruitment drive is not limited merely to filling vacant posts; rather, it represents a significant step towards providing employment opportunities to the youth and strengthening the education system. The government is consistently emphasizing the advancement of recruitment processes across various departments to ensure that the maximum number of young people can secure employment.
