The Rajasthan government is preparing to make significant changes to recruitment processes for positions requiring a 10th-grade qualification. In the near future, passing a Common Eligibility Test (CET) will be mandatory for government jobs requiring a 10th-grade pass. The state government is working on a plan to conduct a separate CET specifically for the 10th-grade level. Preparations are underway to bring various recruitment categories—such as Forest Guard, Lab Assistant, Excise Constable, and Peon—under the ambit of the CET. Candidates wishing to apply for these posts will now only need to pass the CET instead of taking multiple separate examinations.

Once the CET is implemented, there will be no need for separate written exams for these recruitments. A single CET score will enable candidates to apply for 10th-grade level vacancies across various government departments. The move to implement the CET aims to make the recruitment process more transparent, streamlined, and time-bound. According to reports, the government is expected to soon issue detailed guidelines regarding the 10th-grade level CET and the associated recruitment processes.

Benefits of the CET:
Taking the Common Eligibility Test allows candidates to apply for multiple recruitment drives.

The implementation of the CET will reduce the number of separate preliminary examinations, thereby eliminating the stress of repeatedly clearing such tests.

It saves both time and money for the candidates.

It accelerates the recruitment process.

What subjects are covered in the CET?
The Common Eligibility Test includes questions on General Knowledge, Reasoning, Mathematics, Language, and Computer proficiency. It is expected that this exam will be conducted annually.
