PM Internship Scheme 2025: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched the Prime Minister's Internship Scheme 2025. The scheme's primary objective is to provide practical experience and employment opportunities to youth aged 21 to 24. Under this initiative, 1.25 lakh youth will be offered internships across India. The scheme involves 549 leading companies, which will provide internships in a total of 24 sectors, including oil, gas, energy, travel, hospitality, automotive, banking, and financial services.
The second phase of the scheme began on January 9th. Over 2.14 lakh applicants submitted a total of 4.55 lakh applications. Partner companies extended internship offers to 72,000 youth, of which over 22,800 candidates have accepted the offers. Participants under this scheme will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000 and a one-time financial assistance of ₹6,000.
What are the eligibility criteria?
Candidates applying for the internship must be currently unemployed, and their family income should not exceed ₹8 lakh per annum.
ITI: Matriculation + ITI in a relevant trade
Diploma: Intermediate + AICTE-recognized diploma
Degree: Graduation from a UGC/AICTE-recognized university

Top companies enrolled in this scheme include 50 major companies, including Reliance Industries Limited, Tata Consultancy Services, HDFC Bank, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited, and Infosys.
