NEET UG Paper Leak: Amid reports of the NEET exam paper leak, a group of candidates has filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding a fresh NEET-UG 2024 exam. Let us tell you that this exam was conducted on May 5. The petition alleged that malpractice took place in the NEET-UG exam held on May 5 and various cases of question paper leak came to the notice of the petitioners.

'Many cases of the paper leak had come to the notice of the petitioners'

The petition filed by Shivangi Mishra and others has made NTA a party and raised the issue of paper leak and purity of the examination and sought direction to conduct the examination afresh. The petition alleged that the NEET-UG exam held on May 5 was marred by irregularities as several cases of paper leak had come to the notice of the petitioners.

The petition, filed on June 1 through advocate Usha Nandini V, is likely to be listed before a vacation bench this week. The alleged paper leak was violative of Article 14 (right to equality) under the Constitution as it gave an unfair advantage to some candidates over other candidates who had opted to take the exam fairly. The NEET-UG exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS, BDS AYUSH and other related courses in government and private institutions across the country.
