What exam is held for this position?

To become a PCS officer, candidates must pass the Civil Services Examination conducted by the State Public Service Commission (SPSC). This exam is known by different names in different states.

In Uttar Pradesh, the UPPCS (Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission) conducts the exam. In Bihar, the BPSC (Bihar Public Service Commission), in Rajasthan, the RAS (Rajasthan Administrative Service) / RPSC (Rajasthan Public Service Commission), and in Madhya Pradesh, the MPPSC (Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission) conduct the PCS exam. In Jharkhand, the JPSC (Jharkhand Public Service Commission) conducts the PCS exam.
