This system was temporarily suspended during the pandemic to avoid overcrowding. Now that conditions have returned to normalcy, the university has decided to reinstate the entrance examination requirement.

**Entire Process to be Handled via the ‘Samarth Portal’**

This time around, the entire admission process will be conducted online. The ‘Samarth Portal’ will be utilized for this purpose. Students will be able to apply, pay fees, and select their preferred colleges—all from the comfort of their homes. This is expected to make the process both simpler and more transparent.

**What Will be the Rules at Patliputra University?**

While Patna University is implementing an entrance examination system, admissions at Patliputra University will continue to be based solely on Class 12 marks. There, the merit list for students will be prepared based on their marks obtained in the Intermediate (Class 12) examinations.

**When Will Applications Begin?**
Applications for UG courses at Patna University are expected to commence after April 15, 2026. The entire admission process is scheduled to be completed by the end of June, with new classes set to begin in the first week of July.

**What About PG and Vocational Courses?**
Admissions to general PG (Postgraduate) courses will continue to be based on academic marks. However, students applying for vocational courses will be required to appear for an entrance examination.
