Here is an important update for candidates preparing to become teachers in Odisha. The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has revised the date for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2026. The exam was originally scheduled for June 28, but candidates had raised objections as the Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) Combined Recruitment Examination was also scheduled for the same day. Considering the candidates' demands and convenience, the exam has been postponed, and a new date has been announced. OTET 2026 will now be held on July 5, allowing candidates the opportunity to appear for both examinations.

**OTET Exam to be Held in Two Shifts**
The Board has released a new schedule addressing the candidates' concerns. According to the revised schedule, the OTET exam will be conducted in two sessions. Paper I will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, while Paper II will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Meanwhile, the OSSSC exam, originally scheduled for June 20, will now be held on June 28. This adjustment ensures the examination process can be conducted in an organized manner.

**OTET 2026 Exam Pattern**
OTET comprises two papers. Paper I is for candidates wishing to teach classes 1 to 5, while Paper II is for those aspiring to teach students in classes 6 to 8. Both papers will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions. Each question carries one mark, making the total 150 marks. The duration of the exam is set at 150 minutes. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

**Negative Marking in OSSSC Exam**
The OSSSC Combined Recruitment Examination (CRE) will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions. The exam carries a total of 100 marks. Candidates will receive one mark for each correct answer, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. This examination is being conducted by the Commission for recruitment to various government posts.
