The Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB) has postponed the Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment exam. The board chairman shared the details of the postponement. The notification states that the SI exam has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. New exam dates will be announced soon.

The Odisha Police Board scheduled this recruitment exam on October 5th and 6th, 2025, at designated exam centers, but it has now been postponed. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website, odishapolice.gov.in, for the latest updates.

Recruitment Details
A total of 933 vacant positions will be filled through this recruitment exam. Of these, 609 posts are reserved for Sub-Inspector Police (SI), 253 for SI (Armed), 47 for Station Officer (Fire Service), and 24 for Assistant Jailor.

How will the selection be conducted?
To be selected for this recruitment, candidates will have to pass a written examination (OMR-based). In the written test, all questions will be objective-type multiple-choice questions. Each question carries 1 mark. There is also a provision for negative marking in this examination. 0.25 percent marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

Candidates who successfully pass the written test will be invited to the next stages of recruitment: the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). After the physical test, a final list of candidates will be released. Candidates who qualify for this list will be appointed to the vacant posts. Please note that for an appointment, candidates will be required to participate in a medical examination, where physical fitness is mandatory.
