Operation Sindoor Essay Contest: The Ministry of Defense of the Government of India has taken a unique initiative and announced an essay competition based on "Operation Sindoor". This competition will run from June 1 to June 30, 2025, and the participants participating in it will not only get a cash prize of Rs 10,000, but they will also get a golden opportunity to participate in the 78th Independence Day celebrations at the historic Red Fort in Delhi.

The Ministry of Defense shared the information about this competition on X (formerly Twitter) and said, "A chance for young minds to raise their voice! Operation Sindoor: Defines India's policy against terrorism in new ways. Write an essay on this topic in Hindi or English and be a part of the contest."

This competition is being organized in collaboration with @MyGovIndia and every person can send only one entry in it. The essay can be written in either Hindi or English.

What is Operation Sindoor?

Operation Sindoor was launched in the early hours of 7 May 2025. Its aim was to destroy 9 terrorist hideouts located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This operation was launched in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, in which 26 innocent civilians lost their lives. After this, all the retaliatory actions of India took place under this operation.

The Government of India has made it clear that Operation Sindoor has drawn a "new red line" in India's strategy against terrorism and it is establishing a "new normal".

A special opportunity to attend the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort in Delhi on 15 August 2025

How to participate?

Participants interested in participating in the competition can send their essays between 1 June and 30 June 2025. This essay will be accepted only in Hindi or English language. Each individual will get only one opportunity to participate in the competition i.e. a person can send only one essay.
