OECD Internship 2026: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for Indian students who dream of pursuing an internship abroad. The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), headquartered in Paris—the capital of France—has launched an internship program for students across various disciplines. Through this internship, students will gain the opportunity to work alongside world-class experts. Furthermore, a stipend will be provided to cover living and accommodation expenses. The OECD is an intergovernmental organization comprising many of the world's leading nations; the institution focuses on subjects related to economic growth, global cooperation, and social policies. With its headquarters located in Paris, students selected as interns will gain valuable experience working within an international environment.
What Will the Interns' Responsibilities Be?
During the internship, students will be engaged in a diverse range of tasks related to research and policy. They will have the opportunity to prepare research reports, review documents, and collect and analyze data. Additionally, beyond participating in meetings, seminars, and other events, they will gain experience in coordinating with experts and representatives from various countries. Interns will also be required to prepare notes for working papers and other official documents, as well as assist with the communication strategies and evaluation processes of various projects.
Stipend and Additional Benefits
The most distinctive feature of this internship is its stipend. Selected candidates will receive 1,000 Euros per month to cover living and accommodation expenses—an amount equivalent to approximately 1.10 Lakhs in Indian currency. Furthermore, students undertaking an internship with a duration exceeding two months will be entitled to 2.5 days of leave per month. In accordance with the OECD's strategy, arrangements for working remotely (outside the office) may be made available when necessary.
Who is eligible to apply for the internship?
Students currently pursuing Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degrees are eligible to apply for this program. Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time degree program, and their field of study must be relevant to the OECD's areas of work. Candidates are required to possess a strong command of either English or French. Additionally, they should possess basic competencies related to research data analysis, IT, and communication. The organization gives preference to students who are prepared to work in an international environment.
How long does the internship last?
OECD internships typically range from 1 to 6 months in duration. If required, this period may be extended up to 12 months. This is primarily a full-time internship, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week. However, under certain special circumstances, part-time arrangements may also be available. The organization recommends that students opt for an internship of at least 4 months in order to gain more practical experience.
