The Odisha government has taken a significant initiative to promote digital education and equip meritorious students with technical proficiency. The state’s Higher Education Department has commenced the online application process for the 'Godabarish Vidyarthi Protsahan Yojana'—also known as the 'Odisha Laptop Scheme 2026'. Under this scheme, 15,000 selected students who have passed Class 12 will receive financial assistance of ₹30,000 to purchase a laptop. This amount will be credited directly to the students' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. Eligible students can submit their applications via the official portal until November 19, 2026.

The objective of this Odisha government scheme is to encourage meritorious students to engage with digital education. It provides a one-time grant of ₹30,000 to 15,000 selected students across the state for the purchase of a laptop. The funds will be disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into the students' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
