NVS extended the last date for class 6 admission, now you can apply till 27 August

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has extended the last date for application for class 6 admission 2026 to 27 August. The exam will be held in two phases on 13 December 2025 and 11 April 2026, the result will be declared in June 2026.

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has once again extended the last date for application for admission in class 6 in the academic session 2026. Now interested students can register till 27 August 2025. Earlier the last date for application was fixed as 28 July, which was extended to 13 August, and now keeping in view the convenience of the students, the committee has extended it till 27 August.
Who will get a chance for admission?
The date of birth of the students taking admission in class 6 should be between 1 May 2014 to 31 July 2016. That is, only children of this age limit can apply. The committee has clarified that students who have completed or studied class 5 in any previous academic year will not be allowed to apply or appear in this selection test. Therefore, before applying, students and parents should read this rule carefully.

When will the exam be held?
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for admission in class 6 will be conducted in two phases.
First Phase: 13 December 2025
Second Phase: 11 April 2026
The exam will be conducted at different centers across the country. All registered students will be issued admit cards before the exam, which will have to be downloaded from the official website.

When will the result come?
Students will be selected on the basis of performance in the exam. The committee has informed that the result of this examination will be released by June 2026. After the result is declared, the list of eligible students will be available on the official website.
