Nurse Recruitment 2026: A major opportunity has arisen at HPRCA for female nursing candidates preparing for government jobs. The Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission (HPSSC), Hamirpur, has issued a notification to recruit 312 Assistant Staff Nurses for the Department of Medical Education and Research. The recruitment will be on a 5-year engagement basis. The online application process begins on July 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM, and interested candidates can apply until August 29 at 11:59 PM. Who can apply?

Only female candidates are eligible to apply for this recruitment. Candidates must possess a B.Sc. Nursing or GNM qualification from a recognized institution with a minimum of 50% marks. Additionally, registration with the Himachal Pradesh Nurses Registration Council (HPNRC), Shimla, is mandatory. According to the Commission, candidates must be bona fide residents of Himachal Pradesh. If a candidate is not a bona fide resident, they must have passed their 10th and 12th-grade examinations from an institution within Himachal Pradesh.

Age Limit and Selection Process

For this recruitment, age will be calculated as of January 1, 2026. The minimum age for application is 21 years, and the maximum is 45 years. In accordance with state government rules, relaxation in the maximum age limit will be granted to SC, ST, OBC, PwD (Persons with Disabilities), and other eligible reserved categories. Regarding the selection process, a Computer-Based Test (CBT) or OMR-based screening test will be conducted first. The exam will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be answered in 90 minutes; each question carries one mark. Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for document verification, followed by the preparation of the final merit list.

Salary and Application Fee

Selected candidates will be appointed on a five-year engagement basis. Upon selection, candidates will receive a fixed monthly honorarium of ₹25,000. Candidates from all categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹800 for this recruitment; this amount comprises an examination fee of ₹100 and a processing fee of ₹700. An additional fee of ₹100 will be charged if any corrections are made to the application during the designated correction window.
