NTA WhatsApp Channel: NTA launches its official WhatsApp number; advises caution against fake messages..
NEET UG 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has launched its official WhatsApp channel. The agency stated that important information regarding the exam and the examination center will now be sent to candidates appearing for the re-examination via this official WhatsApp channel. The initiative aims to deliver accurate and essential information directly to candidates and minimize confusion prior to the exam. The re-examination is scheduled for June 21, 2026.
NTA Releases Official WhatsApp Number
The NTA has announced that all official WhatsApp updates will be sent exclusively from its verified WhatsApp account: +91 7827980287.
Candidates are advised to verify the presence of the blue verification tick and the name "National Testing Agency" on WhatsApp. The agency clarified that any number lacking the blue verification badge should not be considered an official NTA account, even if it displays the name "NTA."
Additionally, the NTA's WhatsApp channel functions solely as a broadcast service; candidates will receive messages but will not be able to reply to them.
Caution Against Fake Messages and Online Fraud
The NTA has urged candidates to remain vigilant against cyber fraud and fake messages. The agency clarified that it will never request the following information via WhatsApp:
One-Time Password (OTP)
Personal or confidential information
Payments via links or QR codes
Downloading question papers or answer keys from unauthorized sources
Any request for such information made by an individual or number claiming to represent the NTA should be treated as a fake and a fraudulent attempt.
New Admit Card Issued for Re-examination
The NTA has also announced the release of a new admit card for the re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026. According to the agency, the admit card issued for the exam held on May 3 is no longer valid and cannot be used for the re-examination. Candidates are advised to download the new admit card solely from the official website. They have been urged to avoid clicking on links sent via social media, WhatsApp, or other messaging platforms.
What to do if you receive a suspicious message?
If a candidate receives any suspicious or fake message claiming to be from the NTA, they can lodge a complaint on the government's cyber fraud reporting platform.
Furthermore, if a candidate has fallen victim to online fraud, they are advised to immediately contact the National Cyber Crime Helpline at 1930 and file a complaint through the cybercrime reporting system.
Rely only on official sources.
The NTA has reiterated that it never releases question papers, answer keys, or any allegedly 'leaked' material via WhatsApp, email, SMS, or phone calls.
The agency has appealed to candidates to rely only on information issued through official channels and to steer clear of rumors or unverified information. Additionally, the NTA has stated its commitment to conducting the NEET UG 2026 re-examination with complete transparency and fairness, and has extended its best wishes to all candidates for the exam.
