According to the NTA, the objective of this initiative is to enhance the quality, accuracy, and evaluation standards of the questions asked in the examinations. Selected experts will handle responsibilities ranging from drafting questions to reviewing them at various stages of the examination process.

What will the Subject Expert's role entail?

Experts selected by the NTA will be required to draft questions based on the prescribed syllabus that can assess not only the students' understanding of the subject but also their ability to apply concepts. Additionally, they will be responsible for reviewing and verifying the drafted questions. Experts must ensure there are no factual or conceptual errors, the language is clear, and the difficulty level of the questions is appropriate. They will also play a role in the moderation process to maintain uniformity and balance in the question papers.

Opportunity for Translation Review

The NTA has also identified a need for experts to handle the translation and trans-adaptation of exam-related content. Reviewing the translation of exam content prepared in various Indian languages ​​will be part of this process. Experts conducting translation reviews must ensure linguistic accuracy while also preserving the meaning and clarity of the original question. The agency has invited applications from individuals with a strong command of Indian languages. Human review will also play a crucial role in verifying content translated with the help of AI.

Serving or retired faculty members, professors, school educators, and subject matter experts across various disciplines can apply for this NTA process. Applicants must possess specialized qualifications in the relevant subject and provide proof of the same.
