CBSE OSM Row: Amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) stated on Thursday that its digital evaluation platform is based on a fully secure and robust IT infrastructure. The Board clarified that no reports of any security breaches or technical vulnerabilities within the actual evaluation portal have surfaced.

In a statement issued on the social media platform 'X', CBSE stated that the OSM platform has been vetted and certified through authorized security audits. According to the Board, a robust digital infrastructure, multi-level quality checks, and stringent security measures have been implemented for the scanning and processing of answer sheets.

'Answer Sheets Are Completely Secure'
Addressing the students, the Board affirmed that all answer sheets remain secure and have been processed under multiple quality control protocols. CBSE also assured that the concerns raised by students are being taken seriously.

This statement comes at a time when a controversy has intensified regarding the contracts associated with the digital evaluation of Class 12 Board Examination 2026 answer sheets, as well as alleged irregularities within the OSM system. Various claims regarding the security of the system and the evaluation process are currently circulating on social media.

Post-Result Helpline Launched for Students
To assist students, CBSE has launched a 24x7 'Post-Result Support' system designed to guide students at every step. For queries related to evaluation and for stress management support, the Board has issued a dedicated toll-free helpline number—1800-11-8004—which is fully operational.

Furthermore, for any immediate and direct assistance, students may also reach out via the official email channels: info.cbse@nic.in and result.cbse2026@cbseshiksha.in.

Rahul Gandhi Had Raised Questions
On Wednesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had demanded an independent judicial inquiry into this matter, as well as an investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT). He alleged that a company named COEMPT Edutech—to which the CBSE awarded the contract for the OSM process—previously operated under the name 'Globarena' and has a history of controversies in Telangana.

Rahul Gandhi claimed that students in Telangana suffered adverse consequences due to irregularities associated with the OSM process in both 2019 and 2023. He further stated that an atmosphere of anxiety prevails among CBSE students and parents, while the government remains unresponsive to this issue.

In response, the CBSE refuted all allegations leveled by Rahul Gandhi, characterizing them as misleading and baseless. The Board asserted that the entire process was conducted in strict adherence to financial regulations. It stated that the procedure for awarding the contract to the agency involved full compliance with the General Financial Rules. According to the Board, a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the digital evaluation of answer sheets for the 2026 Board examinations was issued on the Central Public Procurement Portal on August 28, 2025, and the contract was subsequently awarded to an eligible bidder.
