NMM Scholarship Scheme: Golden opportunity for Class 8 students, pass the exam and get ₹12,000 scholarship every year..

This is great news for government school students in Class 8. Under the National Means Cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS), run by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, meritorious students will now receive a scholarship of ₹12,000 per year from Classes 9 to 12. This amount will be transferred directly to students' bank accounts through DBT from the PFMS portal. The primary objective of this scheme is to support the education of economically disadvantaged children.

This year, a quota of 5,471 seats has been set for the state of Rajasthan. The state-level examination will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2025. The application process will run from September 15 to October 10, 2025, and students will be able to download their admit cards from the Shala Darpan portal from November 10, 2025. 5% discount for SC and ST categories
This scheme is available only to students studying in state-run schools whose parents' annual income does not exceed ₹3.5 lakh. Students must obtain at least 55% marks in grades 7 and 8. SC and ST students are given a 5% discount. Final selection will be based on the merit list and minimum exam scores.

The exam will be conducted in two stages: Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), each consisting of 90 multiple-choice questions. The total duration of the exam will be 180 minutes, with students with special needs receiving an additional 30 minutes. A minimum of 40% marks (32% for SC/ST) is mandatory. This scholarship will not only strengthen children's education but also give wings to their dreams.
