B.Ed. Teachers Bridge Course 2026: The formal launch of a mandatory six-month bridge course for assistant teachers in primary schools—recruited based on their B.Ed. qualifications—took place in New Delhi on Wednesday. Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi inaugurated the program.

For which teachers is the bridge course mandatory?
As per the Supreme Court's directive, assistant teachers with B.Ed. qualifications who were appointed to primary schools between June 28, 2018, and August 11, 2023, are required to undergo this bridge course. In other words, it is mandatory for teachers appointed to primary schools during this period—who held a B.Ed. qualification—to complete this specific course.

What is the timeframe for completing the course?
The duration of the bridge course is six months. Teachers must complete it within one year from the official start date of the course.

A crucial condition is that the teacher must successfully complete the course in a single attempt.

The appointments of teachers who fail to complete the course within the stipulated timeframe will be rendered invalid.
