New support for girls' education, CBSE launches scholarship scheme; here's how to apply.

CBSE has opened the application process for the Single Girl Child Scholarship 2025. Eligible girl students will receive financial assistance of ₹500 per month for a maximum of two years.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has opened the application process for the Single Girl Child Scholarship 2025. Eligible girl students can register online for a new application or renew the scholarship received in 2024 by visiting the official website, cbse.gov.in.

This scholarship is awarded to girl students who are the only child of their parents and have passed the Class 10 examination with at least 60% marks. Selected girl students will receive financial assistance of ₹500 per month. This benefit will be available for a maximum of two years.

Two types of applications can be made under this scheme. First, the Single Girl Child Scholarship X-2025, which is for girl students who passed Class 10 from CBSE in 2025 and are now studying in Class 11 at a CBSE-affiliated school. Second, the Single Girl Child Scholarship X-2024 (Renewal 2025), is open to those girl students who have previously received this scholarship.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be Indian citizens and the only child of their parents. They must have scored at least 60% in the Class 10 CBSE examination. The girl student must currently be studying in Class 11 or 12 at a CBSE-affiliated school. This scholarship is eligible if the tuition fee does not exceed ₹1,500 per month. However, for NRI girl students, this limit is ₹6,000 per month.

Application Process

To apply, students must visit the official CBSE website, cbse.nic.in. Click on the link 'Single Girl Child Scholarship X-2025 REG' available on the homepage. Then, select New Application or Renewal of Old Application. After filling in the required information, upload the required documents and submit the form. It is important to keep a copy of the application form for future reference.
