UPSC New Online Portal: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched a new online application portal, through which candidates will now be able to use their Aadhaar card in their registration. The commission has said that now applicants will get the option of Aadhaar authentication for identification so that their identity can be easily verified.

Advice to register with Aadhaar

UPSC said that adopting an Aadhaar card as an identity document will enable quick and easy verification of candidates' information. This will become a permanent identity record that will be useful in all future examinations. However, if a candidate does not want to use Aadhaar, he can also use any other valid photo identity card (such as a PAN card, passport, etc.).

New system - What has changed?

Now candidates have to go to the new portal and upload the required documents. The old One Time Registration (OTR) system has now been discontinued, that is, only the new portal will be used in the future.

UPSC has suggested to the candidates that they should use Aadhaar to get quick registration confirmation and ease the verification process at the examination center.
