New Dates Announced for UPSSSC PET 2026; Revised Schedule Released

The dates for the UPSSSC PET have been changed. The exam will no longer be held on October 23, 24, and 25 as originally planned. According to the new schedule, PET 2026 will be conducted on October 25, October 30, and November 1.

An update regarding UPSSSC PET 2026 has been released for lakhs of candidates in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has revised the PET dates. The exam will not take place on October 23, 24, and 25 as previously scheduled.

As per the new schedule issued by the Commission, PET 2026 will be held on October 25, October 30, and November 1. The Commission announced the revised dates in a notice issued on September 25. The exam will still be conducted over three days, with two shifts held each day.

No Change to the October 25 Exam Date

According to the new UPSSSC schedule, the exam will be held on October 25, October 30, and November 1. Previously, the exam was scheduled for October 23, 24, and 25. This means the October 25 date has been retained, while the exams originally set for October 23 and 24 will now take place on October 30 and November 1.

Exam to be Held in Two Shifts

The PET 2026 exam will be conducted in two shifts each day. The first shift will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while the second shift will run from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Candidates will find details regarding the specific exam date, shift, and exam center on their admit cards.

100 Questions, 100 Marks, and Negative Marking

The UPSC PET is an offline, OMR-based examination. It consists of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and candidates are allotted two hours to complete the test. One mark is awarded for each correct answer, while 0.25 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer (negative marking). The syllabus covers subjects such as Indian History, the Indian National Movement, Geography, the Indian Economy, the Constitution and Public Administration, General Science, Elementary Arithmetic, General Hindi, General English, Reasoning and Logical Ability, and Social and General Awareness. Additionally, questions based on unseen Hindi passages and the interpretation and analysis of graphs will be included.

When will the PET admit card be released?

The Commission has not yet announced a specific date for the admit card; however, according to the schedule, details will be released on the official website later. Based on past patterns, the admit card is expected to be issued a few days before the exam, while the city intimation slip may be released earlier. Once the admit card is released, candidates can download it by visiting upsssc.gov.in and using the link for the PET 2026 admit card. To do so, they will need to enter details such as their registration number, date of birth, and captcha code.

What were the eligibility criteria for PET 2026?

Candidates applying for this recruitment exam were required to have passed the 10th standard from a recognized board. The age limit was set between 18 and 40 years, calculated as of July 1, 2026. The online application process for PET 2026 began on August 3, and the deadline for applications was September 7, 2026.
