NEP 2025: Now apprenticeship will be necessary in graduation, youth will become skilled along with studies..

NEP 2025: Under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, a major change is going to happen in the higher education system of the country. Now apprenticeship i.e. practical training will be made compulsory during graduation studies. This system will be implemented in all universities and colleges from the academic session 2025-26. The purpose of this initiative is to connect the students with the industry and give them practical experience, without limiting them to books only, so that they can be prepared for better employment in the future.
Under this new system, students pursuing a three-year degree program will have to do an apprenticeship in the industry for at least one and a maximum of three semesters. At the same time, it will be mandatory for students pursuing a four-year degree program to have this experience for two to four semesters. During this time, they will also be given 10 credit points, which will be added to their degree. This will give students experience of the world of employment along with studies.
Triple Agreement
A triple agreement has been arranged to successfully implement the apprenticeship program. In this, there will be an agreement between higher education institutes, industry, and students. The university will work to take the students to the industry, the companies will train them and the students will be able to lay a strong foundation for their career by gaining practical knowledge.
Youth will become skilled.
The government believes that this scheme will not only provide employment opportunities to the students along with their studies, but they will also become self-reliant. The experience gained at workplaces will play an important role in their personality development and career building. This is considered a positive and historic change in the Indian education system.
