NCTE Regulation 2025: The central government has approved the NCTE Regulation 2025 of the National Council for Teacher Education. The draft of NCTE Regulation 2025 has been sent to the states and universities. You can register your objections on it till March 8. After about 11 years, there is going to be a change in the study and curriculum to become a school teacher. In this, one-year B.Ed after PG, two years B.Ed after graduation degree, four years B. Ed after Plus Two and MEd degree studies have also been approved. The special thing is that after ten years, a one-year B.Ed degree program is starting again from next year.
Teachers will be prepared according to four different parts.
The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has prepared this NCTE Regulation-2025 under the improvement in the quality of school education, NEP 2020 and 2047 developed India goal. Under NEP 2020, school education has been divided into four parts (Foundation, Preparatory, Middle, and Secondary stages). Therefore, teachers will be prepared according to these four different parts. Apart from this, due to changes in the structure of the undergraduate degree program, different B.Ed programs are being started to become teachers. Apart from this, all the programs, credit framework, and curriculum have been prepared under NEP 2020, in which emerging areas, and vocational courses including AI have been added on. There has been a change in the syllabus of M.Ed full-time and M.Ed part-time.
This is how you will get B.Ed degree.
One year B.Ed: Students who have completed four-year undergraduate degree program and PG degree will be able to take admission in it. This degree program was closed under the regulation in the year 2014. But now under the recommendations of NEP 2020, it has been decided to start it again after 10 years. Two-year B.Ed: Students who complete a three-year bachelor's degree program will get admission. After getting a bachelor's degree, if a student wants to become a teacher, then he will get direct benefit.
M.Ed degree program: Students studying four-year integrated B.Ed and two-year B.Ed will be able to take admission in this program.
Expansion of two currently running B.Ed programs
Four-year integrated B.Ed: This degree program has been expanded. The first batch of BA-B.Ed, B.Sc-B.Ed and B.Com-B.Ed started in 2023. In this, four new specialization courses Physical Education, Art Education, Yoga Education and Sanskrit Education are being added from the upcoming session i.e. year 2025. This will be a premium program to become a teacher. Students who want to make a future as a teacher after 12th can take admission in this four-year B.Ed integrated program.
Old two-year B.Ed program: Before the arrival of NEP-2020, two-year B.Ed course is running in 750 colleges. After the new rules are implemented, it will be expanded to a new two-year B.Ed program. These colleges are required to start multi-disciplinary programs. This course will be closed in colleges that do not fulfill the rules. Four years have been given for this.
