NEET-UG Exam 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the NEET-UG examination again in June. To ensure that candidates have ample time for preparation, the examination schedule will be released by May 20. However, the exam will continue to be held in the pen-and-paper mode.

According to sources, the CUET-UG is scheduled for May 31, and the NTA will conduct the NEET-UG only after that date. The examination is likely to take place during the first or second week of June. Sources further indicate that the question paper will no longer be prepared by the previous team, and no questions from past examinations will be repeated. The new team will comprise individuals who have never previously been associated with the NTA. Information regarding the members of this team will be privy only to a select group of NTA officials. The possibility of utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the selection of questions is also being explored.

**Question Papers to be Printed Under Ministry of Home Affairs' Supervision**
This time, the printing of the new question papers will be carried out under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Home Affairs. According to sources, the option of "on-the-spot printing" is also being considered. This process will remain strictly confidential, and a final decision regarding it will be taken during the concluding stages of planning.

**No Compromise on Students' Hard Work**
NTA Director General Abhishek Singh has given an assurance that, this time around, there will be absolutely no compromise regarding the hard work put in by the students. He stated that the "paper leak mafia" has caused immense harm to lakhs of students who have been studying honestly. He affirmed that robust measures would be implemented to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future. Singh added that any student or parent possessing information related to paper leaks—or details regarding the availability of sample papers—is encouraged to share such information via email. Their identities will be kept strictly confidential.

**Vijay and Siddaramaiah Demand: States Must Be Granted Autonomy**
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah have demanded that the Central Government abolish the NEET examination for medical admissions. They argued that individual states should be granted the autonomy to conduct admissions within their respective jurisdictions based on the results of their Class 12 board examinations.Disclaimer: This content has been sourced and edited from Amar Ujala.
