Preparations for the NEET-UG re-examination have now gained momentum. As previously announced, question papers are being transported to various locations via Air Force aircraft, and this process has already begun. A special Air Force aircraft, 'Gajraj', has arrived in Patna, the capital of Bihar, carrying the NEET-UG re-examination papers. Stringent security arrangements were put in place at Patna Airport for this operation. Upon the aircraft's arrival, the question papers were immediately unloaded and transported to secure locations. Subsequently, the papers were dispatched to Darbhanga and Gaya airports, where they were securely handed over to the concerned officials.

The NEET-UG re-examination is scheduled for June 21. The exam was originally held on May 3, but the National Testing Agency (NTA) cancelled it due to a paper leak and subsequently announced a date for the re-examination. The CBI is investigating the paper leak case, and several individuals have been arrested so far on charges of providing exam-related material to candidates in exchange for large sums of money.

Meanwhile, ahead of the exam, the NTA has launched a public grievance portal for candidates to report suspicious activities, such as fake websites or false claims regarding question paper leaks. This reporting portal is available at innovateindia.mygov.in/neet-ug-2026.

**Do not fall for rumors or misinformation**
In a message addressed to students, the NTA advised them not to be misled by rumors or misinformation concerning this medical entrance exam. The NTA stated that no one has access to the question papers before the examination. It urged candidates to immediately report any suspicious offers or claims through the newly launched platform. The agency added that information received via the portal would be investigated by the relevant authorities.

**Ban on Telegram**
As a precautionary measure regarding the examination, the NTA has imposed a ban on Telegram. Although many raised questions regarding this ban, NTA Director General Abhishek Singh defended the move. He acknowledged that while the measure is not foolproof—as some operators could bypass the ban using VPNs—the lack of access for a large number of students would weaken the market for fraud networks.

He stated, "Even if they continue to operate channels using VPNs, the absence of customers will effectively curb the fraud, thereby saving students from financial loss and wasted time associated with fake question paper leaks."

**Re-examination Conducted in Just 37 Days**
The NTA Director General noted that the NEET-UG re-examination had to be organized in a mere 37 days, compared to the usual five to six months of preparation time. This involved completing tasks such as question paper preparation, proofreading, translation into 13 languages, and the printing and transportation of 2.2 million question papers within a very tight timeframe. The Ministry of Defence and the Air Force assisted in reducing the transportation duration from 15–20 days to just three or four days.

**Utmost Attention to Security**
Speaking on the security measures for the exam, he stated that the NTA has implemented multiple layers of security at every stage—from question paper preparation and translation to printing, storage, and transportation. He added that the agency collaborated with the Ministry of Home Affairs, paramilitary forces, the Department of Posts, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of External Affairs, state governments, state police, and local administrations to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted conduct of the exam across 5,440 centers nationwide and 14 centers abroad.
