NEET UG Re-Exam 2026: Relief has arrived for the lakhs of students preparing for the NEET UG Re-Exam 2026. Following the paper leak controversy, and keeping in mind the convenience of students appearing for the medical entrance examination—which is now being conducted again—several state governments have decided to provide free bus services. During examinations, students often face difficulties regarding transportation, long distances, and the challenge of reaching their exam centers on time. This difficulty is particularly compounded for students hailing from rural and remote areas.

Addressing this issue, several states have announced the introduction of a free travel facility in government buses for students taking the NEET re-exam. The NEET UG examination, originally held on May 3, 2026, was cancelled following a paper leak incident. This examination will now be re-conducted on June 21, 2026, with approximately 2.2 million students expected to participate. In this context, let us find out in which states students will be entitled to free bus travel for the NEET re-exam.

In Which States Will Students Get Free Bus Travel for the NEET Re-Exam?

For the NEET re-exam, the governments of Bihar, Punjab, and Haryana have announced the launch of a free travel facility in government buses for students. The governments have stated that the primary objective behind this decision is to ensure that students can reach their respective exam centers with ease, free from stress or financial burden. A key highlight is that students will not require any separate pass or ticket; their NEET admit card itself will serve as their bus travel pass.

Bihar Government Announces Free Travel Facility

The Bihar government has decided to provide free travel facilities in state transport buses for students appearing for the NEET re-exam. Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary shared this information via the social media platform X. According to the government, students appearing for the examination will be able to travel free of cost on government buses across the state. This benefit will be particularly advantageous for students traveling from villages and small towns to reach their examination centers. The government asserts that no student’s examination performance should be adversely affected due to financial constraints or transportation difficulties.

Punjab Government Also Offers Relief to Students

The Punjab government has also introduced a significant facility for NEET candidates. The state government has announced that students appearing for the NEET re-examination between June 20 and June 22, 2026, will be eligible for free travel on Punjab Roadways buses. This decision will provide substantial relief to students who are required to travel long distances to reach their examination centers. The government believes it is essential to alleviate student stress during the examination period to enable them to perform to the best of their abilities.

Free Bus Service Available in Haryana Roadways as Well

The Haryana government has also announced a free bus service for students. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated that students appearing for the NEET re-examination on June 20 and 21 will be able to travel free of charge on Haryana Roadways buses. According to the government, this measure has been implemented to ensure that students can reach their examination centers on time and without any anxiety. This facility is expected to be particularly beneficial for students residing in rural areas.

Admit Card to Serve as Bus Ticket

The governments of all three states have clarified that students will not be required to obtain a separate pass or ticket. Their NEET UG admit card will serve as their valid travel pass. While traveling on the bus, students must carry their admit card along with a valid identity proof. Upon presenting their admit card, they will be granted permission to travel free of cost.
