NEET UG Paper Leak: A major controversy has erupted surrounding the NEET UG 2026 examination. An investigation by Rajasthan’s Special Operations Group (SOG) has heightened suspicions of a paper leak after questions found in a “sample paper” were found to match those in the actual examination.

NEET UG Paper Leak: Once again, a significant controversy regarding the NEET examination has emerged, impacting the millions of students who dream of pursuing medical studies. Following the NEET UG 2026 examination, apprehensions—particularly regarding a potential paper leak—have intensified the anxiety of students and parents alike. In a case that surfaced in Rajasthan, it is alleged that a “sample paper” was sold for lakhs of rupees prior to the exam, containing 140 questions that bore a striking resemblance to the questions asked in the actual NEET UG 2026 examination. As soon as this matter came to light, Rajasthan’s Special Operations Group (SOG) and other agencies immediately launched an investigation.

Questions Resembling the Actual Exam Found in “Guess Paper”

According to reports, the National Testing Agency (NTA) received intelligence from Rajasthan and Uttarakhand indicating that a “guess paper” or “sample paper” had been circulated among certain students prior to the examination. The subsequent investigation revealed that out of the 300 questions contained in that paper, approximately 140 questions matched—to a significant extent—those asked in the actual NEET UG 2026 examination. Taking the matter with utmost seriousness, the NTA subsequently apprised central investigative agencies and the Rajasthan Police of the situation.

Sample Paper Traced from Kerala to Sikar

The entire matter is now being investigated by the Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the SOG. According to reports, the SOG’s investigation has revealed that the sample paper was transported from Kerala to Sikar in Rajasthan. This discovery has fueled suspicions that a network spanning across multiple states may be operating behind the alleged paper leak or its circulation. Consequently, officials are now working to identify all individuals involved in procuring and distributing the paper. Investigative agencies have also initiated raids at several locations. Preliminary information has also revealed that certain individuals claimed to possess the “actual exam paper” and allegedly sold it to students and their families in exchange for hefty sums of money. However, it remains unclear at this stage whether the leaked material was indeed the authentic exam paper or merely a “guess paper” prepared based on previous exam patterns. These revelations have significantly accelerated the pace of the investigation, particularly at a time when millions of medical aspirants are relying on the NEET UG examination to secure admission into medical courses.

NTA Issues Clarification

In its clarification, the NTA (National Testing Agency) stated that the NEET UG 2026 examination was conducted under a comprehensive security framework. The agency asserts that multiple layers of security checks were implemented during the examination process, including biometric verification of candidates, AI-enabled CCTV surveillance at exam centers, secure handling and transportation of question papers, and continuous monitoring. Consequently, the agency suggests that one should await the completion of the full investigation before drawing any definitive conclusions. The NTA further noted that it had already handed over information pertinent to this matter to the investigating agencies as early as May 8. For the time being, the agency intends to refrain from making any hasty decisions until the investigation is concluded.

Questions Raised Once Again Over NEET Exam Transparency

This controversy has once again cast a shadow of doubt over the transparency of the country’s largest medical entrance examination. Over the past few years, allegations of paper leaks and irregularities surrounding the NEET examination have surfaced repeatedly, leading to an erosion of trust among students. Consequently, the eyes of millions of aspirants are now fixed on the report to be submitted by the investigating agencies. Furthermore, should the allegations be substantiated by the investigation, this issue could evolve into a major crisis with profound implications for the future of millions of students.
