NEET UG Counselling 2025: Candidates who are successful in the NEET UG 2025 exam have to appear in the counselling process of MCC for admission in MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, and other health science courses of medical colleges. NEET UG Round 1 counselling started from 21 July 2025, which included stages like choice filling and locking. However, at the demand of the candidates, this process was extended several times, and now MCC has also changed the schedule.

According to the official notice of MCC issued on 5 August 2025, the choice filling and locking process of Round-1 has been temporarily suspended. Now, a new schedule will be released soon for NEET UG counselling. Due to this change, there is a state of uncertainty among thousands of candidates preparing for admission to medical college. Keep checking all the latest updates related to NEET UG Counselling 2025 on the official website mcc.nic.in.

NEET UG Counselling 2025 Process

NEET UG counselling began on July 21, 2025. It included steps like registration, fee payment and choice filling. As per the initial schedule, the last date for choice filling and seat locking was fixed as July 28, but due to the demand of the candidates and technical problems, MCC extended it several times – first till 11:55 pm on July 31 and then finally till 11:59 pm on August 4, 2025. But now it has been extended again.

Choice Filling and Seat Locking Status
Choice Filling: Candidates are allowed to enter their preferences for college and course.

Seat Locking: After this, the seat has to be locked so that the last option is valid as per the Seat Allocation.

A sudden order to postpone came.

On August 5, 2025, MCC suddenly issued a notification stating that the choice filling and locking process of Round‑1 had been temporarily stopped. The reason for this decision was stated to be multiple missed deadlines, discrepancies in the seat matrix, and disruption in the due allocation process. All candidates have been advised to keep checking updates regularly on the MCC website, mcc.nic.in. Information about the new date will be available there.

What should NEET UG candidates do?

Students who have not yet entered their choice should wait till the selection process is resumed. Those who have already filled out the form are advised to review their option in case of change. Candidates should regularly monitor the seat matrix, guidelines and counseling portal (mcc.nic.in) so that new updates are not missed.
