NEET UG Counseling Round 2 Schedule Released; Process Begins September 3

The MCC has released the schedule for Round 2 of the NEET UG 2026 counseling. The second round of counseling will commence on September 3, 2026, and the results for Round 2 will be declared on September 11.

The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) has announced the schedule for Round 2 of the NEET UG 2026 counseling. The second round of counseling for seats under the All India Quota, Deemed Universities, and Central Universities will begin on September 3, 2026. Registration, fee payment, and choice-filling processes will also start on this day. The seat allotment result for Round 2 will be released on September 11. Candidates allotted a seat in Round 2 must report to the respective institute and complete the admission process within the stipulated timeframe.

Registration and Fee Payment from September 3

Registration and fee payment for Round 2 (covering All India Quota, Deemed, and Central Universities) can be done from September 3 to September 8. The facility for fee payment will remain available until 6:00 PM on September 8. Meanwhile, the choice-filling window will be open from September 3 to September 9. Candidates will be able to lock their choices between 4:00 PM on September 8 and 10:00 AM on September 9. Subsequently, the MCC will complete the seat allotment process on September 9 and 10, with the Round 2 results scheduled for release on September 11.

State Counseling Schedule Also Released

Along with the AIQ (All India Quota) schedule, the MCC has also released the timeline for Round 2 of state counseling. The state-level counseling process will run from September 7 to September 11. During this period, the respective state counseling authority will complete the admission and other related procedures for candidates. Candidates allotted seats under both AIQ and state counseling must join by September 18. On September 19, the respective authorities will verify the records of the candidates who have joined. Candidates must also keep an eye on the instructions issued by their state's counseling authority.

Which Candidates Are Eligible for Round 2?

Candidates who did not secure a seat in Round 1 will be able to participate in Round 2 in accordance with the prescribed rules. Additionally, candidates who secured a seat in Round 1 but opted for the 'Float' option may participate in Round 2 for seat upgradation. Conversely, candidates who chose the 'Freeze' option will retain their Round 1 seat but will not be considered for seat upgradation in Round 2. Candidates moving from Round 1 to the Round 2 upgradation process must complete the prescribed online formalities and submit the necessary documents. Under this year's system, 'Float' candidates will not be required to visit the allotted college in person for document verification; the institute will conduct the verification online.
