Girls Outperform in NEET UG 2026

One of the biggest highlights of this year's results is the outstanding performance of female candidates.

According to NTA:

  • More than 58% of all qualified candidates are women.

  • Most top-ranking candidates fall within the 17–19 years age group.

  • Female candidates secured several positions among the country's highest scorers.

Score Distribution

The results show strong competition at the top end of the merit list.

  • 19 candidates scored 700 marks or above.

  • 138 candidates secured 690 or more marks.

  • 1,492 candidates scored 650 or above.

  • 10,160 candidates obtained 600 or more marks.

Candidates from the following eight states featured prominently among the highest ranks:

These states accounted for most of the candidates securing the top positions in the national merit list.

Top Performers from Union Territories

NTA also announced leading candidates from various Union Territories.

Among them:

  • Jigmet Yangchan Lamo (Ladakh) – 530 marks

  • Dhruv Tripathi (Andaman & Nicobar Islands) – 606 marks

  • Fahmida Anees (Lakshadweep) – 573 marks

State and Union Territory toppers were declared across the country, including the North-Eastern states.
