The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a major update for candidates regarding the NEET UG 2026 exam. Certain key changes have been made to the NEET UG exam—scheduled for June 21, 2026—with the students' convenience in mind. The NTA has extended the total exam duration to 195 minutes, allowing candidates more time to solve the paper. Additionally, more space will be provided in the question paper for rough work. According to the NTA, these changes were implemented based on student feedback and with the aim of simplifying the examination process.

Changes to Exam Timing for NEET UG 2026

The NTA has announced that the duration of the NEET UG 2026 exam has now been set at 195 minutes. The exam will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. This duration includes the time required for signing attendance sheets and completing other necessary exam-related procedures.

Better Utilization of Exam Time for Students

The NTA states that this change was made based on feedback received from candidates. The objective is to ensure students have sufficient time to solve the paper and that their exam time is not compromised by administrative procedures.

More Space for Rough Work in the Question Paper

Changes have also been made regarding rough work in the NEET UG 2026 question paper. Candidates will now be provided with more space than before for rough work, calculations, and drawing diagrams.

New Arrangement for Rough Work Pages

Previously, pages for rough work were provided only at the end of the question paper. Pages for rough work will now be available at the beginning of the question paper as well. This will enable students to work according to their convenience.

Instructions issued by the NTA to students

The NTA has advised candidates to carefully read all instructions provided in the admit card and the information bulletin, and to adhere to the rules at the examination center. According to the agency, these changes have been introduced to make the examination process more convenient and candidate-friendly.
