NEET UG 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that APAAR ID will not be mandatory for the NEET UG 2025 exam. This clarity comes after a public notice was issued on January 14, 2025, urging candidates to update their Aadhaar card and link it to APAAR ID (also known as Academic Bank of Credits – ABC ID). APAAR ID is a digital repository of students' educational credits, providing a comprehensive record of their academic performance. However, NTA has confirmed that while APAAR ID is beneficial, it is not mandatory for registration for the upcoming exam. Candidates will have other alternative methods available for registration, about which detailed instructions will be provided in the future.
Benefits of APAAR ID
Although the integration of APAAR ID is not mandatory for NEET UG 2025 registration, candidates are still advised to follow this process as it has many benefits. Aadhaar integration offers significant benefits for both candidates and the examination process.
Simplified application process: Aadhaar helps in auto-filling candidate information, reducing the chances of manual errors and making the application process more effective.
Improves exam efficiency: Linking Aadhaar helps the authorities to verify the identity of the candidates quickly and accurately, making the exam experience more seamless and effective.
Faster attendance verification: Aadhaar verification at the exam center speeds up the check-in process, reducing waiting time and ensuring faster entry for candidates.
Candidate security: Aadhaar authentication ensures that each candidate has a unique identity, thereby protecting their interests and preventing identity fraud during the exam.
