There is a lot of resentment among the students due to the mess in the NEET UG exam paper. Parents have also demanded immediate action from NTA on this.

NEET-UG 2025, the biggest source of medical admission for lakhs of students across the country, was concluded peacefully on 4 May this time. The examination remained safe under the joint supervision of the Ministry of Education and the State Administration, but the pictures that came out after the examination increased the concern of the students and parents.

Many students have complained of irregularities in the printing of the paper and confusion in the order of the questions. Such incidents have come to light, especially from Sikar in Rajasthan and Jamnagar in Gujarat, where students were given question papers in the wrong order. For example, students with paper code 47 said that after question 7 in their paper, question 15 came directly. Similarly, students of Gujarati medium with code 48 were also given booklets with jumbled pages.

Due to this error, many students filled in the circles with the answers of the wrong questions or wasted precious time in understanding which question to fill in the correct answer. When the students complained about this to the center staff during the examination, they got the reply "Solve the paper as it is." Hearing this, the students' troubles increased further.

After the examination, parents sent complaints to the NTA and the Gujarat government, with scanned copies of the wrong question papers attached. A parent wrote that the children had reported the error in the middle of the examination, but no one listened. A Gujarat official has confirmed that they have received such complaints. On the other hand, coaching experts and students also said that some questions were outside the medical syllabus. There is controversy especially about question number 38 of code 47, in which calculus based mathematical derivatives were asked, which usually come in engineering exams like JEE (Main) and not in medical.

NTA said this

However, a statement from NTA has come that all the questions have been asked as per the prescribed syllabus. The answer key has been released and objections have also been sought, which will be looked into by a committee of subject experts. But this statement does not solve the problems of those students who have been affected by wrong printing and confused order of pages. This is not a technical mistake of content, but of paper layout.

Demand for solution

Now students and parents are demanding a clear and quick solution from NTA, because the result of the exam is going to come this month. More than 20 lakh students are dreaming of getting admission in MBBS, BDS and other medical courses through this exam, and in such a situation, the error in the paper can directly affect their future.
