NEET Scam: 13 Arrests, Multiple Raids—Has the CBI Closed in on the Mastermind Behind the NEET Paper Leak?
In connection with the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, the CBI has arrested a doctor from Latur and a coaching faculty member from Pune. So far, 13 accused individuals have been apprehended, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The CBI's investigation into the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case is steadily intensifying. Following the recent arrest of two additional accused individuals in this high-profile case, the total number of arrests has now risen to 13. These latest developments have raised serious questions regarding the entire educational network and the "coaching mafia."
The CBI has arrested two more individuals in connection with the NEET-UG 2026 examination paper leak case, bringing the total number of arrests in this matter to 13. Dr. Manoj Shirure, a resident of Latur, has been arrested in connection with the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. He played a pivotal role in facilitating the procurement of Chemistry question papers from the accused P.V. Kulkarni for three students—including the son of the accused coaching center owner.
APMA Coaching Faculty Member Arrested
The other arrested accused is Tejas Harshadkumar Shah, a Physics faculty member at the Pune-based coaching center, Dr. Abhang Prabhu Medical Academy (APMA). He had allegedly received the leaked Physics question papers for the NEET-UG 2026 examination from the arrested accused, Manisha Havaldar. The investigation is continuing with the aim of uncovering the entire chain of events and the underlying conspiracy in this case. To date, the CBI has conducted search operations at 49 different locations, seizing numerous incriminating documents, laptops, and mobile phones. A detailed forensic analysis of the seized items is currently underway.
CBI Registers Case Based on Ministry of Education's Complaint
The CBI registered a case regarding the leakage of the NEET-UG 2026 examination question papers on May 12, 2026, acting on a written complaint submitted by the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Immediately upon the registration of the case, special teams were constituted, and search operations were conducted at various locations across the country, during which several suspects were detained and interrogated. So far, 13 accused individuals have been arrested in connection with this case from Delhi, Jaipur, Gurugram, Nashik, Pune, Latur, and Ahilyanagar. Various special teams are conducting a joint investigation, which has revealed the actual source of the leak of the Chemistry, Biology, and Physics question papers that were circulated prior to the examination.
