NEET PG Counselling 2026: Important information regarding the medical assessment for candidates seeking admission under the PwD category in Round 1 of NEET PG counselling has been released. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a notice in this regard.
According to the MCC, the medical assessment process for PwD category candidates will commence on October 1, 2026. The PwD portal will also be activated on this day.
By when must the medical assessment be completed?
Candidates applying for admission under the PwD category must complete their medical assessment within the stipulated timeframe. This process will be conducted through the Primary Medical Assessment Board. The important dates are as follows:
PwD portal activation: October 1, 2026
Start of Primary Medical Assessment: October 1, 2026
Last date for Primary Medical Assessment: October 9, 2026, by 5:00 PM
Start of Appeal/Re-assessment: October 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM
Last date for Appeal/Re-assessment: October 12, 2026, by 5:00 PM
What to do if dissatisfied with the medical assessment?
If a candidate requires an appeal or re-examination following the primary medical assessment, an Appeal Medical Assessment Board facility has been arranged. This facility will be available from 10:00 AM on October 5, 2026, until 5:00 PM on October 12, 2026.
Therefore, candidates requiring an appeal or re-assessment after the primary assessment must complete the relevant procedure within the specified time.
Why is it important to undergo the medical assessment on time? Completing the prescribed medical assessment is a mandatory step for proceeding with counseling under the PwD category; therefore, candidates should not wait until the last date.
