NBEMS has advised all candidates to carefully read the 2026 information bulletin before applying. According to the Board, the information bulletin will be made available on the official website starting at 4 PM on July 1, 2026. Candidates are also advised to apply well in time rather than waiting for the deadline, to avoid potential technical issues.
What changes has the board made regarding exam center allocation?
NBEMS has clarified that the allocation of the exam state, city, and center for NEET PG 2026 will not be done on a 'first-come, first-served' basis.
The board stated that submitting an application early will not grant any priority in the allocation of a specific exam city or center. Therefore, candidates should not feel compelled to rush their application for this reason; instead, they should fill out the application form carefully.

Who is eligible to apply for NEET PG?
Candidates must possess a recognized MBBS degree or a provisional MBBS pass certificate, in accordance with the provisions of the NMC Act, 2019, and the Postgraduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023.
And
Must hold a permanent or provisional registration certificate for their MBBS qualification issued by the National Medical Commission (NMC)/erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI) or a State Medical Council.
And
Must have completed a one-year internship or be likely to complete the internship on or before September 30, 2026.
Number of questions reduced to 180
According to the information bulletin, the NBE has reduced the number of questions in the NEET PG exam from 200 to 180. Previously, the NEET PG question paper consisted of 200 multiple-choice questions. The exam will be conducted nationwide in a single shift on August 30, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
The information bulletin states, "The examination will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with four answer options/distractors provided in English only for each question. Candidates will be required to select the correct, best, or most appropriate answer from the four options provided for each question."
