NCERT is going to set a new record for printing books. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will print 15 crore books this year, increasing the publication of textbooks three times. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced this, which is almost three times more than last year.
Recently a contract was signed between NCERT and Amazon, which aims to make NCERT textbooks available on the online platform. The Education Minister said, NCERT has been publishing textbooks since 1963, which has shaped India's education landscape. So far, about 220 crore books and magazines have been published. NCERT is a leading think tank for the country.
Dharmendra Pradhan said that these books will be made available at about 20,000 pin codes across the country. He also ensured that the books would be available only at the maximum retail price (MRP). The Education Minister urged to make the learning process more effective for 300 million students in 'Amrit Kaal'.
Emphasis on e-books
The minister also emphasized the development of e-books. He said that these books will be interactive and AI-powered, including innovations like talking books. This effort will not only improve the studies of the students but will also allow them to gain knowledge through digital media.
Books will be available online.
NCERT textbooks of all grades will be made available on the online platform, which will help students to access them easily. This step is a sign of a new revolution in the field of education, in which technology and knowledge will be coordinated.
