NCERT Diploma Course: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has launched a diploma course for teachers and education professionals. This is a Guidance and Counseling course, which will be conducted in a distance-cum-face-to-face mode. Its objective is to enhance the skills and competencies of teachers, teacher educators, and school administrators so that they can contribute to the holistic development of students and effectively handle their academic, social, emotional, and moral problems.

Course to be completed in three phases
This diploma course will be conducted in three phases. The first three months, from January to June 2026, will be conducted in distance mode, consisting of self-study and assignments. After this, the course will be conducted face-to-face from July to September 2026. These three months will be followed by a three-month training program at the respective study centers. This will be followed by a one-month internship (October–December 2026) to gain practical experience in your hometown or workplace.

Who can apply?

Teachers, teacher educators, school administrators, and untrained counselors in India can apply for admission to this diploma course. Admission centers will be located at NCERT, New Delhi, and Regional Institutes of Education, Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysore, and Shillong. A maximum of 50 seats will be available at each center. Government-nominated (deputed) candidates will be given priority. Advance copies will be accepted for selection.
