NCERT Physics Course for 12th Students: Many students find it difficult to grasp physics concepts. They seek a teacher who can explain things easily. If you are a 12th-grade student studying physics, this is very useful news for you. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has launched an online physics course.

When can you enroll?
This course, available on the SWAYAM portal, is completely free and designed to teach students concepts easily. The deadline to enroll for this course is September 1, 2025.

Why is this course special?
Physics can be a challenging subject for students, but if taught correctly, it can be a very interesting subject. This course uses lectures, e-texts, practice questions, assignments, and animations. Its purpose is to bridge students' learning gaps and connect them with real-life examples.

The course is divided into two parts.
This 24-week online physics course from NCERT will not only help students with their studies but also support them in understanding concepts through practical examples and assignments. This online course is divided into two parts: Courses 3 and 4. Both courses together comprise a total of 10 units, taught through 43 modules. Each module includes study material, excerpt notes, and a final assessment.

What will be taught in Course 3?
Course 3 covers the first five units of physics. These include topics such as electrostatics, current electricity, magnetism, electromagnetic induction, and electromagnetic waves. Essential concepts such as charge, electric field, Gauss's law, drift velocity, Kirchhoff's laws, Biot-Savart's law, transformers, and Maxwell's equations will be covered in detail.

In addition, you will be able to clarify your concepts on resistivity, Kirchhoff's laws, electrical energy and power, cyclotron, earth's magnetism, galvanometer, Lenz's law, eddy currents, AC circuits, power transmission, spectrum, and applications.

What topics will be covered in Course 04?
Course 04 includes units 6 to 10. These will cover Optics, Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices, and Communication Systems. This section includes everything from the properties of light, the photoelectric effect, Bohr's theory, semiconductors, transistors, and modern communication.

Essential concepts such as Einstein's equation, de-Broglie waves, atomic models, radioactivity, nuclear energy, diodes, transistors, amplifiers, digital electronics, modulation, and wave propagation will be covered in detail.

This free online course will be completed in a total of 24 weeks, and the language is English.

Exam Registration Deadline – September 7, 2025
Exam Date – September 10, 2025 (subject to seat availability; the deadline will be indicated on the hall ticket)
