There is major news for teachers in Madhya Pradesh. The Directorate of Public Instruction has extended the holidays for teachers across the state. Before the notification issued by the MP Board, schools were scheduled to reopen for teachers on June 1st. However, this period has now been extended by one week. Consequently, schools for teachers will now reopen on June 7, 2026.

**Decision Taken Due to Extreme Heat**
According to the details shared in the notification, "Currently, the state is experiencing conditions of extreme heat and a severe heatwave. Temperatures exceeding 45 degrees Celsius are being recorded in numerous districts. Furthermore, teachers are engaged in performing duties related to the census and board examinations during this summer period.

In light of the aforementioned circumstances—and in the interest of the teachers' health—the School Education Department of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, through Order No. 1/903849/2026 (Bhopal, dated March 24, 2026), hereby amends the previously declared holiday schedule for the academic session 2026-27 across all schools in the state, as follows:"

**Schools to Reopen for Students on June 16**
It is important to note that schools will reopen for teachers *only* on June 7. Schools for students will reopen on June 16. The new academic session will also commence on this same day. Additionally, the second phase of the "School Chale Hum" (Let's Go to School) campaign will launch on this day and will continue until June 30. According to the issued directives, the primary objectives of this campaign are to ensure 100% enrollment, identify children who have dropped out of school and reintegrate them into the education system, and improve the overall quality of education.
