MP RTE Admission 2026: The State Education Center has taken a significant decision regarding the free admissions granted to children from economically weaker and disadvantaged sections in private schools under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. Keeping the convenience of students and parents in mind, the deadline for admissions has been extended. Now, students selected in the first phase of the lottery will be able to secure admission in their allotted private schools until April 25, 2026. Previously, the deadline for admission was set for April 15, 2026.

The State Education Center has issued necessary guidelines to all districts in this regard to ensure that this process is completed smoothly and that no eligible student is deprived of admission.

**School Allotment Conducted via Lottery**
Mr. Harjinder Singh, Director of the State Education Center, informed that the process for granting admission to children from weaker sections and disadvantaged groups in unaided private schools is carried out under Section 12(1)(c) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009. In accordance with this procedure, seats were allotted to students in various private schools on April 2, 2026, through an online lottery.

Subsequently, parents were instructed to ensure their children's admission to the respective schools between April 3 and April 15, 2026. Parents who failed to complete the admission process during this period were also notified via SMS.

**Decision Taken in Response to Parents' Requests**
Although the majority of students were admitted within the stipulated timeframe, some parents reported that they were unable to complete the admission process on time due to various reasons. They appealed to the administration to extend the deadline so that they could secure admission for their children.

Prioritizing the interests of the children and acceding to the parents' request, the State Education Center has decided to extend the admission deadline by 10 days. Consequently, students selected in the first phase can now secure admission in their allotted schools until April 25, 2026.

**Strict Action Against Arbitrary Practices by Private Schools**
To ensure that this process remains both transparent and effective, the State Education Center has issued strict directives to officials at the district level. Instructions have been given to the concerned officials to take immediate action should any parent file a complaint alleging that their child is being denied admission to the private school allocated to them.

Block Resource Coordinators (BRCs) and District Project Coordinators (DPCs) have been directed to intervene immediately in such instances and ensure that necessary action is taken. Furthermore, it is to be ensured that the concerned child is indeed granted admission to their allocated school.

**Monitoring Through Daily Reviews**
To further strengthen the oversight of the entire process, directives have also been issued to conduct daily reviews at the district level. The objective of this measure is to ensure that no eligible child is deprived of the benefits of this scheme.
