This news comes as a major relief for athletes from Madhya Pradesh. Talented athletes who excel in their sport will no longer have to struggle to find government employment. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has decided to resume the direct recruitment of outstanding athletes into the police department. The rules have been amended to make the recruitment process easier and more transparent for them.

**Direct Recruitment Process to Resume**
The State Home Department has amended the 'Madhya Pradesh Police (Appointment of Outstanding Athletes) Rules, 2021,' with a notification issued on June 15. Under the new rules, the selection, eligibility, and evaluation processes have been made clearer and more systematic. The objective is to provide opportunities to deserving athletes without any hurdles.

**Employment Within the State**
Athletes from Madhya Pradesh will no longer need to look to other states for employment; they will have the opportunity for direct recruitment into the state police department. Initially, recruitment will be conducted for 10 Sub-Inspector (SI) and 50 Constable posts. This initiative will not only provide athletes with a dignified career but also enable them to continue pursuing their sport.

**Annual Recruitment**
The government has also decided that recruitment under the sports quota will be conducted regularly every year. This will ensure continuous opportunities for athletes and establish a permanent system. This move is seen as a significant step towards promoting a sports culture within the state.

**Exemptions Under New Rules**
Outstanding athletes have been granted several exemptions under the new rules. They will receive relaxations regarding educational qualifications and physical standards, such as height requirements. Additionally, they will be exempted from the written examination and the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). This will reduce the pressure on athletes, allowing them to focus on their sport.

**Who Can Become a Sub-Inspector?**
Only those athletes who have participated in the Olympics, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, or world-level competitions will be eligible for the post of Sub-Inspector. Opportunities will be available to both medal winners and participants in these competitions.

Required Qualifications for the Post of Constable
National-level athletes will be eligible to apply for the post of constable. Athletes who have won medals in national games or recognized national championships will qualify. Notably, athletes eligible for the post of Sub-Inspector will automatically be considered eligible for the post of constable as well.
