Medical Education Bond: If you are studying MBBS or MS/MD from Delhi, then this is important news for you. Now at the time of admission to Graduate (MBBS) and Post Graduate (PG) in all the medical colleges of Delhi, students will have to fill a bond. This bond is worth Rs 15 to 20 lakh and it is mandatory to fill it. Along with this, under this new rule, after completing their studies, students will have to serve as Junior Resident (JR) or Senior Resident (SR) in government hospitals of Delhi for one year. If any student does not want to serve, then he will have to pay the amount of the bond. This rule will come into effect from the next academic session.

The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi has issued this order and it has been issued by the Health and Family Welfare Department of Delhi. According to this, students taking admission to medical colleges (under All India and State Quota) will have to serve in hospitals under the Delhi Government for one year after completing their degree. According to this rule, graduate students will have to fill a bond of Rs 15 lakh, and post graduate (including super specialty courses) students will have to fill a bond of Rs 20 lakh. If any student does not provide his services, he will have to pay the amount of the bond.

Graduate students will be appointed to the post of Junior Resident (JR) and post-graduate students to the post of Senior Resident (SR). Along with this, they will also get a stipend equal to JR/SR and there will also be a provision for a salary increase for super specialty students. These students will be appointed to the vacant posts available in various hospitals of the Delhi Government, including society hospitals. They can be deployed in various hospitals as per the requirements of the Health Department.

A committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the Dean of Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), which will assess the need for additional posts of JR/SR. If needed, additional posts will also be created so that the services of these students can be used in various government hospitals. Till this service bond comes into effect, the existing students will be allowed to voluntarily work in the vacant posts of JR/SR and they will also be paid salary as per the prescribed remuneration.
