The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the Class 12 re-evaluation results recently. Following this, there have been significant changes in the marks of many students; notably, a large number of students saw an increase in their scores. Consequently, the topper rankings for the CBSE Class 12 exams have also undergone a major shift. Students from Jharkhand have emerged as toppers across all three streams following the re-evaluation results. Avni Kejriwal from Ranchi made history by securing a perfect score of 500 out of 500, becoming the All-India topper as well as the topper of the Commerce stream. Alongside Avni, Aditya and Bhavya also emerged as toppers in the CBSE Class 12 exams, securing the top positions in the Science and Arts streams, respectively.

Let us understand the entire matter in detail—specifically the CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation issue—and learn more about the toppers from Jharkhand across all three streams.

**CBSE Class 12 OSM and Re-evaluation**
This year, CBSE evaluated Class 12 answer sheets using the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. A controversy arose regarding the OSM system when students applied for scanned copies of their answer sheets. Many students alleged issues such as blurred images of the answer sheets and unfair marking (including lower scores), and some even claimed that their answer sheets had been swapped. The Central Government has now constituted a committee to investigate the OSM tender process.

Amidst the OSM controversy, CBSE initiated a re-evaluation process for the Class 12 answer sheets, the results of which were released recently. Many students saw their marks increase during re-evaluation, which altered the topper rankings.

**Avni Kejriwal from Ranchi Scores 500 out of 500**
Following the CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation results, Avni Kejriwal from Ranchi has emerged as the All-India topper. Avni Kejriwal has also emerged as the topper in the Commerce stream. Following the re-evaluation results, Avni secured a perfect score of 500 out of 500. Her marks increased by 24 points during the re-evaluation process. With this, she surpassed Priya Babulal from Bokaro to become the CBSE Class 12 All-India topper; previously, Priya Babulal held the top spot with 99.41% marks. Click here to read Avni's story.

**Aditya from Bokaro and Sakshi from Kanpur emerge as Science toppers**
Following the CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation results, Aditya Mishra from Bokaro, Jharkhand, has become the topper in the Science stream. He shares the top spot in the Science stream with Sakshi Goyal from Kanpur; both students secured 99.60% marks in Class 12. Aditya had initially secured 99.20% marks; for instance, he had previously scored 96 in Biology. His score in Biology increased by 3 marks during re-evaluation, bringing his total in the subject to 99. Consequently, his overall ranking improved. Aditya is a student at DPS Bokaro.

**Bhavya retains her position**
Bhavya Ranjan has emerged as the topper in the CBSE Class 12 Arts stream. She is a resident of Ranchi, Jharkhand, and appeared for the Class 12 exams from Oxford Public School, Ranchi. She secured 99.8% marks, a score she had achieved in the initial results. As there were no changes to the results of any Arts stream students following the re-evaluation, Bhavya Ranjan retains her top position. Click here to read Bhavya's story.

Many students are still awaiting re-evaluation results; topper rankings could change further.
While CBSE has released the Class 12 re-evaluation results, the outcomes for many students are still pending. According to information shared by the board, results have been released for 87 percent of the students who applied for re-evaluation; the results for the remaining students are yet to be declared. It is believed that the topper rankings could undergo further changes once all results are released.
